Where ChatGPT Ads stand
ChatGPT went from no ads to 89 countries in eight months.
OpenAI began testing ads in ChatGPT in the US in February 2026, added cost-per-click bidding and a self-serve Ads Manager in May, and opened self-serve buying to India, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa on 31 August[1][2]. Southeast Asia and Taiwan followed in September[3], and an expansion on 21 October took ChatGPT ads to 89 countries, with more than 100,000 advertisers having run campaigns[1].
The format is different from search ads. Ads appear only for adults on ChatGPT's Free and Go plans, they're labelled and kept apart from the answer, and OpenAI says they don't influence what ChatGPT recommends[4]. Instead of keywords, advertisers give ChatGPT "context hints" about the conversations they want to appear in[1]. For a hotel or restaurant, that means building campaigns around the planning questions guests actually ask.

Ads follow the conversation, not a keyword
Someone who asks for "a quiet hill resort with a spa within a day's drive of Delhi" has told ChatGPT more than any search query would. Campaigns are built from those contexts, so the offer in the ad has to answer the question just asked: the package, the price, the dates.
Buying an ad doesn't buy the answer
ChatGPT ads sit next to the answer, never inside it, and OpenAI says advertising doesn't affect recommendations[4]. Being described well in the answer itself is a separate job, which our AI search optimisation work covers. Most properties need both.
A new channel needs a fair test
There are no years of benchmarks for ChatGPT ads in hospitality yet. We run a time-boxed test with tracking in place from day one, then compare cost per enquiry and cost per booking with Google, Meta and the OTA commission you'd otherwise pay.
What changes when we run your ChatGPT Ads.
Without it
- No presence where more guests now plan trips and pick restaurants
- Generic brand ads that don't answer the question the person just asked
- Clicks landing on a home page with no clear next step
- No way to tell whether ChatGPT traffic turned into bookings
With Fielmente
- Campaigns built around the planning questions your guests ask
- Offers with the price, dates or proof a planner wants before clicking
- A landing page for each offer, with WhatsApp, call and booking buttons
- Enquiries and bookings tracked from the ad and compared with Google and Meta

Proof
The measurement habits we bring to ChatGPT Ads.
ChatGPT Ads are new, so our published case studies are Google Ads accounts at Indian hotels and resorts. They show how we work on any paid channel: count real enquiries, fix the page, then scale.
Google Ads results across 23 client accounts we manage, Sep 2023 – Sep 2026. Enquiries are tracked calls, WhatsApp chats, forms and booking clicks.
Case studies

Google Ads Case Study: Naturoville Wellness Resort
Naturoville was already spending over ₹2 lakh a month on Google Ads, but each enquiry cost more than ₹1,500 and fewer than 2 in 100 clicks became a conversation.

Steady ad traffic but very few enquiries — often under 30 a month at ₹700–2,000 each.

Most of what Google counted as conversions were map taps — visibility, but few direct booking conversations.

Great team to work with. Adaptive as Ottawa is a very unique market and they have learnt very quickly. Great initiative taken to explore and make a big impression in the market.
We don't publish ChatGPT Ads results yet because the channel is only months old in most markets. Ask us what we're seeing in tests for properties like yours.

Short ads with something concrete: a package and its price, dates that are open, a set menu, a venue tour.
Landing pages
A page per offer that answers the question in its first screen, loads fast on a phone and asks for one action.
Tracking
Pixel or Conversions API, tagged links and call and WhatsApp tracking, deduplicated so one booking counts once.
Fast follow-up
Enquiries answered on WhatsApp in minutes, by your team or an Eazotel AI agent, and logged in a CRM.
Rules and limits
What ChatGPT Ads can and can't do.
ChatGPT shows ads only to adults on its Free and Go plans; Plus, Pro and Enterprise users don't see them[1]. OpenAI has said it keeps ads away from users under 18 and from sensitive topics such as health, mental health and politics[1]. That matters for wellness retreats, whose campaigns have to be built around travel and retreat planning rather than health claims.
Ads are labelled as sponsored and kept separate from the answer[4]. They won't make ChatGPT recommend you, and nobody can promise that they will. What a campaign can do is put a relevant offer in front of someone at the moment they're deciding, and send them to a page that makes booking easy.
- Shown to adults on Free and Go plans only
- Labelled as sponsored and separate from ChatGPT's answer
- Matched to conversation context rather than single keywords
- Bought per click or by impression, with conversion tracking
- No effect on what ChatGPT recommends organically

Are ChatGPT Ads available in India?
Yes. OpenAI opened self-serve buying in Ads Manager to businesses in India, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa on 31 August 2026. By 21 October 2026 ChatGPT ads ran in 89 countries. We confirm what's open in your target markets before planning spend.
Who sees ChatGPT ads?
Adults using ChatGPT's Free and Go plans. Users on Plus, Pro and Enterprise don't see ads, and OpenAI has said it doesn't show ads to people under 18 or next to sensitive topics such as health and politics.
Can you get our hotel recommended in ChatGPT's answers?
Not with ads. Ads are labelled and separate from the answer, and OpenAI says advertising doesn't influence recommendations. Being described well in the answers depends on what ChatGPT can read and trust about you, which our AI search optimisation service works on.
How are ChatGPT ads charged?
Advertisers can bid per click or per thousand impressions, and conversion tracking is available through OpenAI's pixel and Conversions API. We usually start on cost per click, so you pay for visits rather than views.
How much should we spend on a first test?
Enough to learn, not to launch big. We run four to six weeks on a fixed daily budget, judge cost per enquiry against your other channels and decide then whether to scale. Our guide to ChatGPT Ads costs in India goes into budgets in detail.
Do ChatGPT ads replace Google Ads?
No. Google still carries the most booking intent for most properties. ChatGPT ads reach people earlier, while they're still deciding where to go, so we run them alongside Google and Meta and compare all three on the same numbers.
Do restaurants and cloud kitchens benefit too?
Restaurants can, for occasion dining, set menus and private events in cities with visitors. For cloud kitchens it's usually a small test for subscriptions, office lunches and catering, because few people order tonight's dinner through an AI assistant.
Who owns the ad account?
You do. We set up Ads Manager in your business's name and work as users on it, so the account, data and history stay with you if we ever part ways.
